It is no longer unusual to spot stray dogs and other homeless animals wandering around the streets of Kraljevo, Serbia.
Goran Marinkovic has a soft spot for animals and provides food for more than 100 stray dogs and cats from his personal funds. As an experienced animal rescuer, he thought he had witnessed everything until he encountered a tiny puppy called Smesten.
Goran is a kind-hearted person who saves endangered animals that roam on the streets. He loves all kinds of animals, be it cats, dogs, or any other species. His passion for animals drives him to take care of them. Goran feeds abandoned animals that don’t have owners and are often neglected by humans. The number of such animals is increasing day by day.
One day, while feeding a group of stray dogs, he stumbled upon Smesten lying in a pile of trash. The poor puppy looked sickly and malnourished, with no sign of its mother around. To make matters worse, the little pup had been using an old shoe as shelter from the harsh elements.
The sight of the dirty puppy made the animal enthusiast feel disheartened. To help the little one, Goran started by giving him some food. However, he quickly realized that the poor puppy was too fragile to be left unattended.
Instead, Goran opted to lift the little pup and take it with him to his home. He even made a quick stop at the veterinarian’s clinic to get some medication before he began nursing the dog back to full health.
For eight months, Goran provided nourishment and love for the puppy until it started to thrive. Smesten’s coat became smooth and fresh, and his demeanor became peaceful and adapted. Additionally, he developed a strong admiration for Goran, whom he sees as his hero!
Goran had planned to put Smesten up for adoption after he was fully grown, as he already had several other pets at home. However, as the puppy grew bigger, Goran found himself unable to part with him. In November, Goran officially adopted Smesten, but both of them seem less than thrilled about the situation. Check out what Smesten looks like now!
A good transformation is always impressive and enjoyable to witness. It’s amazing to see how much Smesten has changed – it’s like looking at a whole new dog! Speaking of transformations, have you ever heard of a “glow-up” versus a “glow-pup”? They both sound pretty great!
